Guardian Graphic of Tyhoon affecting Rugby World Cup Games

Australia (ranked 6th) vs Georgia (ranked 15th)

With Typhoon Hagibis causing havoc to this weekend’s World Cup fixture schedule[1], Australia’s final Pool game against Georgia has narrowly escaped the chaos, but ranking scores and places are on the line.

Australia haalready qualified for the quarter finals and will be looking to put in a strong performance over Georgia to help set them on the road to a likely quarter final against England.

Georgia has only won one of their Pool games to date, so have no expectations of playing beyond this match. They will not however, go down without a fight, as a win could take them third in the table which means automatic qualification for the 2023 World Cup.

Australia only lost to Wales in the Pool games so are feeling strong. The prediction is for an Australian win. Although both teams are in very different places in the World Cup table, they are both surrounded by teams close to them so margin of victory/loss could be critical in deciding their World Cup Ranking.
