Fiji went toe to toe for 60 minutes with Australia in their opening game, but ultimately fell short in the end. Now they face Uruguay, a side playing their first game of the tournament, as Fiji aim to rebuild their campaign to qualify from Pool D.
Back in 2003 Uruguay were ranked higher than Fiji, but since then Fiji has made good progress in the rugby rankings, they are currently riding as high as they have ever been. Uruguay on the other hand, took a drop in their ranking after 2003 and have only recently started to make any serious recovery.
Nevertheless, Uruguay will, no doubt, do everything they can to try to upset a much-fancied Fijian outfit, which sees 12 changes since their opening game2.
